About these terms

These terms apply to your use of this website and to in-store purchases at Gulf Coast Aquatics (2847 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota, FL 34239). By using this site or buying from us, you agree to these terms.

What we sell

Gulf Coast Aquatics is a retail store. We sell freshwater and saltwater fish, corals, marine invertebrates, aquariums, equipment, and supplies. Our services are limited to in-store consultation, free water testing, and special orders. We do not install or maintain aquariums, design custom builds, or install ponds.

Livestock policy

All fish and corals sold by Gulf Coast Aquatics are quarantined and observed before sale. We make no warranty that any livestock will survive transport, acclimation, or your home aquarium conditions. Fish and corals are living animals; their survival depends on proper acclimation, water quality, and ongoing care, which are the buyer's responsibility.

We will not sell livestock that we believe is incompatible with the buyer's stocking or tank size. This is a hard rule and is not subject to negotiation.

Returns and refunds

Equipment in unused condition with original packaging may be returned within 14 days of purchase for refund or store credit. Used equipment, opened consumables (food, salt, water care), and livestock are non-returnable.

If a fish dies within 24 hours of purchase, bring it back with a 100ml water sample for free testing. We may, at our discretion, replace or credit the fish if water parameters indicate the death was not caused by buyer error.

In-store advice

Our staff give honest, hobbyist-experience advice. We are not licensed veterinarians or professional aquascapers. Advice is general and based on industry best practices; outcomes depend on many factors beyond our control.

Special orders

Special orders for specific fish, corals, or equipment require a 50% deposit. Deposits are non-refundable if you cancel; if we cannot source the item, your deposit is fully refunded.

Content on this site (text, photos, guides) is the property of Gulf Coast Aquatics. You may share or quote with attribution; you may not copy and republish without permission.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by Florida law, Gulf Coast Aquatics is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages arising from your use of our products, services, or website.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any dispute will be resolved in Sarasota County, Florida.
